Why should you trust your future to Railroad Training Services?

You are probably wondering why you should choose to attend the classes we offer instead of one of those “other” training schools. Well, we will try to explain why you should invest your future to Railroad Training Services.

So here are...

THE TOP 10 REASONS TO ATTEND RAILROAD TRAINING SERVICES CAREER CENTER OVER THE OTHER “RAILROAD ACADEMIES OR SCHOOLS”

  1.       We do not guarantee anyone a job like some of the other “training schools and academies” do. We do, however guarantee you an every chance at interview with the railroad of your choice. This puts the “monkey” on our back to instill the skills in you that the railroads are looking for today. It makes us step up to the plate and push you a little when you slack off or when you are not sure of something, then we have to take the extra step to make sure you understand, even if it means extra time or extra work for us. After all, that is the idea-to make you completely understand what we are teaching and to make sure you can perform the tasks we give you. Once you are in the interview, we want you to feel that you are in control and can show a forceful interviewer that you are knowledgeable about the subjects and can easily answer all of the questions correctly and efficiently. After all, you will be pre-qualified and will know the answers. With this energetic approach to an interview, the railroads will take notice of you and will give you very high marks over the other potential new-hire employees. You will go into the interview with a certain amount of confidence and will get the job.

  2.       We are a local company and all of our business is open for discussion. Railroad Training Services is owned and operated by Rick Carter. Rick is the sole owner and as such, he has nothing to hide from the public. If you ask Rick or any of his staff a question, you will get the truth immediately. We will hide nothing, unlike some of the other “academies and schools”. Currently, the staff at Railroad Training Services consist of Rick, his two sons, Tom and Tim. They will give you honest information. We will not hide behind a cloud of secrecy. We do not have a “Board of Directors” made up of family members and crooked attorneys or people on the run from the law.  Rick's credentials are real and authentic and are open for inspection by the students at any time. When you invest your hard earned money with Railroad Training Services, you will know that you have made the right decision. We are a “for profit” company, meaning that we do this as a business. The profit we make is quite small compared to other schools that use the “non-profit” status to avoid paying taxes. That puts more “profit” into the owners pockets. Our profits go back into the school except for a small wage for the staff. We invest our money in the school and the students understanding. We have quite a few devices for instruction now available, but we are purchasing newer and more modern devices as the money comes in. We want to be the best in the industry, not the richest. That is our goal. We want the railroads to look at us favorably and with pride, not with disgust like they do some of the other schools. Our name is important to us and we want to make sure it is never questioned. You can be assured when you enroll in Railroad Training Services, you have made the right decision!

  3.       The training you receive from Railroad Training Services will be the most up to date information and procedures available. Rick has worked for a variety or railroads and industry governing bodies in his career. He has made many, contacts within the FRA, CPUC, UPRR, BNSF, AMTRAK and many other railroads. He has also made many friends and business contacts with most of the railroad suppliers and industry professionals in the county. That is why if something is asked or comes up in class and he does not have the answer, he knows exactly who to call and get the correct answer immediately.

  4.       “What about the equipment we will be using?” All of our equipment is either new or slightly used. Nothing comes from the junk pile! A piece of equipment that is not safe, will not be used. The same holds true for off-site equipment we use.  Your safety is very important to us. We will not ask you to use any piece of equipment that is not safe. In the event that a piece of equipment fails during use, it will be removed immediately and a repair person will be called to bring the equipment back up to our high level of professionalism. We take pride in our equipment and will offer only the best for our students!

  5.       “How do we know that our training will be accepted by the railroads? Again, you will receive the most modern, up to date information available. With our contacts within the industry, we are constantly given a “heads-up” when new technology is about to come out. Remember, our reputation is based on being the best in the country. With the level of quality training you will receive, the railroads will take notice and you will step to the head of the hiring class!

  6.      “What if we get sick or something happens to us during the class? Will we be able to continue later?” Yes, we will allow you to continue at a later date. We know that sometimes things can happen. Unlike some schools that keep your money if you drop out, we will honor your decision to continue at a later time. Or, if that is not possible, we are required by the State of California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education to return a portion of your tuition to you. The option will always be your decision. We would however, like you to make a commitment to the class and stay for the full 8 weeks, but if something comes up, we will help you solve the problem and if that can’t fix it, we will come to an agreement with you to allow you to continue at a later date that we both agree on. We will not take your money without giving you the chance to continue and graduate. After all, your future is at stake here and we will do whatever it takes to secure that future for you!

  7.       “Once we graduate and get the job on the railroad, what will be our commitment to Railroad Training Services?” Once you complete your class and get hired to work on the railroad, we know we will be friends. All we ask is that you perform the tasks and assignments you are given like a true professional. After all, you are a professional! We would ask that you continue with a positive attitude and show your employer what you know. By doing that, you will make yourself a very valuable employee to the railroad. And, by do that, you will show the railroad that they made a good decision by hiring a student we trained. That will show the railroad that Railroad Training Services is providing the industry with quality trained professionals!

  8.       “After we graduate, what will be the commitment from Railroad Training Services to the students?” Once our students’ graduate, that is not the end of the commitment from Railroad Training Services. You will have a phone number to contact any time you have a question or need an answer. Once you graduate from our school, you will not be “an ex-student”. You will be a friend. Someone that we will keep in contact with and monitor and be available when you have a problem. We will be there to provide the support you may need. After all, isn’t that what friends are for?

  9.      “How can I afford to pay the tuition for this training?” We know that the tuition price is not cheap. However, we have two options for student tuition funding available. Basically, you will secure a student loan from one of the lenders we have available. Railroad Training Services does not have anything to do with the decision making process for these two companies. If your credit is not too good, you may need a co-signer. That is something you would discuss with the lender. We have had discussions with both lenders and they are aware of our program and has approved us for student funding, so there will probably be no problems for you to get the approval. Once you have graduated and secured your job with the railroad, you would be expected to make small monthly payment to repay the tuition to the lender. What is a small monthly payment when you are making a great paycheck?
